I said I was going to get my design up by the end of last week. I meant this week. Honest! Anyway on Friday I ended up formatting and reinstalling Windows XP, rather than coding my sisters design and finishing my own.

After spending nearly a year and a half on the installation and managing to fix any problems, I finally came across a series of problems that I could not manage to fix. About a month ago I had issues with file associations and missing icons. I fixed these in the “File Types” section of “Folder Options”.

However, a month down the road and things had gone wrong again. I tried doing it again, and succeeded. Until I checked my sisters design in IE, only to have it save the file and open it in Firefox! So I went back into the file types, deleted and reset them… Then both Firefox and IE displayed the source of any HTML files. This plus many icons being screwed up and my previous issues with the DNS Client service and Winamp 5.5 crashing, I gave up and formatted.

Everything seems to be (touch wood) running much smoother now, so it was worth it. Anyway, I aim to get my design done this week. I’m going to be doing another mock design after getting some feedback over at Neowin. Must finish coding my sisters design for her though, before she kills me! If I go missing, you know who done it…
